Letter Writing Task#

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You recently attended a community workshop on environmental conservation that you found extremely beneficial. Write a letter to the organizer of the workshop.

In your letter:

• express your appreciation for the workshop
• explain which aspects of the workshop you found most useful
• suggest how the workshop could be improved

Write at least 150 words. Do NOT write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mr. Thompson,

I recently attended the community workshop on environmental conservation that you organised at Riverside Library, and I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for such a well-planned and inspiring event.

The aspect I found most useful was the presentation on protecting local wildlife. I had no idea that so many bird and insect species in our area depend on native plants, and the advice on creating a wildlife-friendly garden was practical and easy to follow. I also valued the opportunity to meet other residents who care about the environment; several of us have since agreed to organise a monthly clean-up of the riverbank.

If I may, I would like to suggest one or two improvements for future workshops. Firstly, the venue became rather crowded, so a larger room or a limit on numbers would make it more comfortable. Secondly, it would be helpful to include more hands-on activities, such as planting or building bird boxes, as many participants seemed keen to put the ideas into practice straight away.
