Welcome to this IELTS Writing Task 1 practice question for General Training!

This task is designed to assess your ability to write a letter in response to a given situation.

You’ll have 20 minutes to complete this task, and you should aim to write at least 150 words.

Task Prompt

You recently attended a workshop on environmental sustainability at your local community center.

Write a letter to the organizer of the workshop to:

Thank them for the workshop

Explain what you found most useful about the event

Suggest an idea for a future workshop on a related topic

Task Instructions:

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

Write at least 150 words.

Do NOT write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows: For example; Dear Mr. Thompson,

Sample Answer Outline:

1. Opening paragraph: Express gratitude for the workshop

2. Second paragraph: Describe the most useful aspects of the event

3. Third paragraph: Suggest an idea for a future workshop

4. Closing paragraph: Reiterate thanks and express interest in future events
